The Code of Conduct (“Code”) demonstrates the Alliance of Professional Window Fabricators’ commitment to delivering quality and service. Our Members are committed to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the conduct of their business.
The Code sets out the principles by which Members agree to behave. Members will not knowingly misrepresent facts or mislead any members, customers or suppliers concerning any aspects of the goods and services they provide. They also agree to abide by specific codes of practice relevant to their business.
For the purposes of the Code the expression “Member” shall not include Associate Members.
The Code and/or the Complaints Procedure may be amended from time to time with the approval of the membership at an Annual General Meeting.
Failure to observe the Code or any relevant Code of Practice may lead to the imposition upon the Member by the Alliance of a fine, suspension from membership or expulsion from the Alliance.
The Code is intended to assist Members of the Alliance to set, maintain and improve the standards of conduct within the industry by assuring all who deal with Members of the Alliance that they are conducting their business with reputable organisations.
Members will establish, share and maintain best practices.
To be the voice of the window fabricating industry. To set and raise standards for the benefit of members of the Alliance and all of their stakeholders from suppliers to end users.
Conduct their businesses lawfully and comply with all relevant legislation and trade fairly and responsibly.
Behave at all times with integrity and act responsibly and with care in the day to day conduct of their business.
Not knowingly misrepresent facts or mislead any customer or supplier concerning any aspect of the goods and services they provide.
Respect confidential information to which they may in the course of business become privy.
Provide to all persons with whom the Member does business clear, accurate pre-contractual information and clear terms and conditions of supply including fair contract terms.
Notify the Alliance of any matter which might adversely affect the reputation of the industry or the Alliance.
Ensure that monthly reporting to the Alliance, of agreed management information, is timely and accurate.
Be encouraged to advise centrally to other members all relevant bad debtors so to ensure that other members are aware and can make prudent commercial decisions.
Within the spirit of good business amongst members and without breaching competition law members will maintain appropriate margins on product sales.
Commit to preparing for and attending regular monthly meetings of the Alliance.
Maintain adequate financial controls thus enabling them to demonstrate solvency in accordance with the Insolvency Act and the Companies Acts and in the case of a limited company within the fiduciary duties of the officers of the member company.
Be able to demonstrate the collection of accurate, timely and useful management information to provide the member with the framework to run their business effectively.
Ensure that financial reporting and relevant annual returns are timely and in accordance with member’s statutory duties.
Demonstrate that reasonable care and consideration is taken in complying with relevant health and safety rules and regulations.
Members will ensure that their manufacturing processes and products comply with Industry regulations at all times.
Comply with the Complaints Procedure of the Alliance and co-operate fully and promptly with the investigation by the Alliance of a complaint against the member.
Provide to the investigator such information and documents as he may request with regard to the complaint to enable the investigator to deal with the complaint within the time scales set out in the Complaints Procedure.
